Ugly? Since when is currency decoration? These strip money down to its most basic elements how much its worth and which government issues it, in this case represented by its historical figures, presented without any fanfare or romanticism.

There are too many people chasing beauty and ignoring truth.

I appreciate the philosophy behind this, but if you look into the history of money you will find that decoration was added more as a security measure than a way to make it look appealing.
